I use the Trident to deal with their scouts, rely on beacons, and use the SH-20 Shield Generator Pack. Anything stationary like turrets are just sitting ducks for the Hunters to snipe. The EXO-48 Obsidian Exosuit (Pilot Pack) is great against them, but all it takes is one wall from an Obelisk and you're toast. I've never found a perfect setup for them. The Illuminate are simply annoying and we don't fight them unless we have to. That's why we both just take two Anti-Tank Emplacements on missions against them. The Recoilless Rifle is still useful, but I usually can't switch to it fast enough to take out tanks before they alert. Only one of you needs to take anti-tank on bugs, but both of you taking Minigun Turrets is recommended.Ĭyborgs can be quite vexing since their tanks stalk you across the map, often alert instantly, and drop down right in front of you. For objectives you have to stop for the Minigun Turret is usually all you need, but if things go sideways the Anti-Tank Emplacement will often save your ass. Sure, beacons don't work well on them, but the scouts are easy to deal with duoing and the Recoilless Rifle takes care of any tanks while on the move. I think bugs are the easiest to fight against. Of course you don't have that option for Retaliatory Strikes, so that's why the Entrenched Pack is so damn good. We often just find a nice spot on the edge of the map and let the heat die down or kill whatever follows. You do *not* have to stay and fight if an alert goes out. Cutting across the map straight to your destination is often risky. A great way to achieve that is beacons and sticking as close to the edges of the map as you can. It's really just up to preference and loadout at that point.īasically, we just metal gear our way through maps and do our best not to get caught. For Retaliatory Strikes we sometimes use Stratagem Priority, but even then Cardio Accelerator is hard to pass up. Unfortunately on snow and forest maps you'll want to take All Terrain Boots (another dlc that's pretty mandatory) or you'll be slow as molasses. Perks: Again, stealth is what we aim for, so the Cardio Accelerator perk is our go to almost always. You just have to be really careful not to get mowed down by them, so try to be mindful of placement. A/MG-II Minigun Turret: This is especially wonderful against bugs, but it's also helpful against Cyborgs. For some reason they don't work very well on the bugs, but we still get some use from them on those enemies. You'll rarely fight if you use these to your advantage. Just throw one the opposite of your objective or opposite of where you're headed and clear out. Distractor Beacon: Part of our strategy is stealth and these beacons are vital for that. You can take the Resupply stratgem if you want instead, but I prefer the Resupply Pack. A lot of times you won't find yourself resuplying, but when you need the extra ammo you will be so glad you took it. Resupply Pack: I always take this along with the Recoilless Rifle. It's a little weird at first, but it's excellent for dealing with heavily armored foes. After firing the rifle your buddy must reload it from the backpack or you can't fire again. One person holds the weapon the other puts on the backpack. RL-112 Recoilless Rifle: This is fantastic if you can get communication down with your partner. We haven't done any past 8 (which is already like hell on earth) and don't intend to. You *can* get through them, but there can be absolutely no mistakes and it just really isn't worth the trouble. Retaliatory Strikes will always be the bane of your existence and if you can avoid doing them I'd recommend just doing that. We've never gotten much out of the Kinetic Shield. The Anti-Personnel Barrier (barbwire fence) in that pack is also extremely useful in those situations. For any defense type of objectives there really is nothing better. The AT-47 Anti-Tank Emplacement is an absolute godsend for Retaliatory Strikes and any missions with heavily armored enemies (Cyborgs in particular). For duo players Retaliatory Strike missions will be the hardest thing you will have to deal with (we haven't tried the bosses though). Lemme start off by saying that we weren't shy with getting dlc, so not everything I suggest may be helpful.Ībove all else what helped us achieve higher difficulties is the Entrenched Pack dlc. Other than that it just takes communication and patience.Īny "i wish i knew this when i started" tips for 2 player coop? We've cleared helldives now, but we still can't do Retaliatory strikes on very high difficulties. I've seen a lot of bad advice when googling certain things simply because it seems that most people play in full rooms, so playing duo requires a lot of trial and error. At first it was pretty tough, but we figured out how to get past most things. Originally posted by Happy Cake Oven:I only play with my buddy, so duo is the only way I've ever played this game.
